This privacy policy is written in plain language. We want you to understand exactly what information OK Today collects, why we collect it, and how it is protected. If you have questions, please contact us at support@frobro.com.
1. About OK Today
OK Today is a wellness check-in application designed for seniors and the people who care about them. The app allows seniors to send a simple daily check-in signal to a trusted group of family members, friends, or caregivers (called a “care circle”). If a check-in is missed, the care circle receives an alert so they can follow up.
OK Today is operated by FroBro Web Technologies.
2. What Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to make the app work. Below is a detailed list of every type of data the app may collect.
2.1 Account Information
- Full name – used to identify you to your care circle
- Email address – used to sign in to your account
- Phone number – optional; used as an alternative contact identifier
- Profile photo – optional; displayed on your profile
- Account role – whether you are a senior, a care circle member, or both
- Time zone – used to schedule check-in reminders at the right local time
2.2 Check-In Data
Each time you check in, we record:
- Date and time of the check-in
- Check-in status – whether the check-in was completed on time, late, or missed
- Optional note – a short text message you may choose to include with your check-in
- Location (latitude and longitude) – only if you grant location permission and only at the moment you tap the check-in button. Location is never collected in the background.
- Medication taken – a yes/no record of whether you took your medication that day, only if you have enabled the medication check feature in settings
2.3 Medical Information
The Medical Information section is entirely optional. You may choose to enter any or all of the following:
- Blood type
- Insurance provider, policy number, and group number
- Primary care physician name and phone number
- Preferred hospital
- Allergies
- Current medications
- Medical conditions
This information is private by default. You control a setting called “Share with Care Circle.” When that setting is turned off (the default), your medical information is visible only to you. When you turn it on, your care circle members can also view it.
2.4 Care Circle Relationships
- The names and email addresses of the people linked to your care circle
- The relationship type (family, friend, caregiver, neighbor, or other) you assign to each connection
- The history of link requests sent and received
2.5 Settings and Preferences
- Your preferred check-in window (start and end time of day)
- Reminder frequency
- Alert time
- Whether check-ins are paused, and an optional reason for the pause
- Whether the medication check feature is enabled
2.6 Device and Technical Information
- Push notification token (FCM token) – a device identifier generated by Google Firebase that allows us to send push notifications to your device. This token is associated with your account and the device model name.
- Crash reports – if the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics automatically sends a crash report to us. This report includes technical information about the crash (such as the device model, Android version, and the code location where the crash occurred). It does not include your personal information or medical information.
- Notifications – a record of notifications sent to you (type, title, body, and whether you have read them) is stored on our servers so the app can display your notification history.
2.7 Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect location data in the background. Location is only captured at the exact moment you tap the check-in button, and only when you have granted permission.
- We do not use advertising identifiers or sell advertising.
- We do not collect browsing history or data from other apps on your device.
- We do not read your contacts, messages, photos, or files.
3. Why We Collect This Information
We use the information described above for the following purposes:
- To operate the app – your account information, check-in records, and settings are necessary for the core features of OK Today to function.
- To send notifications – we use your push notification token to send you reminders to check in, and to send your care circle alerts if a check-in is missed or an emergency alert is triggered.
- To share information with your care circle – check-in status, optional notes, and (if you have enabled the setting) your location and medical information are shared with the people in your care circle so they can be aware of your wellbeing.
- To improve the app – crash reports help us identify and fix technical problems.
- To keep your account secure – we use Firebase Authentication to verify your identity when you sign in.
4. How Your Information Is Stored and Protected
4.1 Server Storage
Your account data, check-in history, medical information, and all other records are stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Google Cloud SQL in the United States (us-central1 region). The database is not directly accessible from the internet; it is accessible only through our private backend server running on Google Cloud Run. Google Cloud provides encryption of data at rest and in transit as part of its standard infrastructure.
4.2 On-Device Storage
The OK Today app stores a small amount of data locally on your Android device (for example, check-ins recorded while offline). This local database is encrypted using SQLCipher, an industry-standard encryption library. The encryption key is stored in Android’s encrypted credential storage and never leaves your device.
4.3 Data Transmission
All communication between the app and our servers takes place over HTTPS (encrypted connections). Your data is never sent over an unencrypted connection.
4.4 Authentication
Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication. We never store your password directly. Firebase verifies your identity and provides our server with a secure token that we use to confirm who you are.
5. Third-Party Services
OK Today uses the following third-party services. Each service has its own privacy policy.
5.1 Google Firebase Authentication
We use Firebase Authentication to manage sign-in. Firebase processes your email address and password to create and verify your account. Firebase is operated by Google LLC.

5.2 Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)
We use FCM to deliver push notifications to your device. FCM requires a device token (a unique identifier for your device and app installation) to route notifications. This token is stored on our servers and shared with Google’s FCM service only for the purpose of delivering notifications.

5.3 Firebase Crashlytics
We use Crashlytics to receive automatic crash reports when the app encounters an error. Crash reports contain technical information about your device and the nature of the crash. They do not contain your name, email, medical information, or check-in notes.

5.4 Google Cloud Platform
Our backend server and database run on Google Cloud Platform in the United States. Google processes data on our behalf as a data processor under our agreement with Google.

5.5 Google Play Services Location
When you grant location permission, the app uses Google Play Services to determine your device’s current location at the moment of check-in. Google’s location services are governed by Google’s privacy policy.

We do not share your personal information with any third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. We do not sell your data.
6. Health and Medical Information
The medical information you enter in OK Today (blood type, medications, conditions, allergies, insurance, and physician details) is considered sensitive personal information. We treat it with extra care:
- Entering medical information is completely optional. The app works without it.
- Medical information is private by default. It is visible only to you unless you explicitly turn on the “Share with Care Circle” setting.
- When you enable sharing, your medical information is made visible to the members of your care circle who are linked to your account. You can turn off sharing at any time.
- We do not share your medical information with insurance companies, healthcare providers, advertisers, or any other third parties.
- Medical information is stored in our encrypted database alongside the same protections that apply to all your data.
7. Location Information
The app requests permission to access your device’s location. Location access is used only for one purpose: to optionally attach your current location to a check-in so your care circle can see where you were when you checked in.
- You can deny location permission and still use all other features of the app.
- Location is only accessed at the moment you submit a check-in. We do not track your location continuously or in the background.
- If you choose to include location in a check-in, the latitude and longitude coordinates are stored on our server and shared with your care circle members.
8. Camera Access
The app requests camera permission. The camera is used only to scan QR codes when linking your account with a care circle member. We do not take photos, record video, or store any images from your camera.
9. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Your information is shared in the following limited circumstances:
- With your care circle – your check-in status, check-in notes, optional location, and (if you enable it) your medical information are shared with the people you have approved as care circle members.
- With service providers – we share information with Google (Firebase, Google Cloud) to operate the app, as described in Section 5. These providers act under our instructions and are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes.
- For legal reasons – we may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
10. Children’s Privacy
OK Today is designed for adults and is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at support@frobro.com and we will delete the account and associated data promptly.
11. Data Retention and Deletion
11.1 How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep your account information and check-in records for as long as your account is active. Medical information, settings, and care circle relationships are retained until you delete them or delete your account.
11.2 Deleting Your Account
You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at support@frobro.com. When we delete your account, we remove:
- Your account profile and settings
- All check-in history
- All medical information
- All care circle links and link requests
- All stored notifications
- All push notification tokens associated with your account
- Your Firebase Authentication account
We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
11.3 Deleting Specific Data
You can delete or clear your medical information at any time from within the app by clearing the fields and saving. You can remove care circle members from your account through the app’s care circle management screen.
12. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. These may include:
- Access – the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction – the right to correct inaccurate information (you can update most information directly in the app)
- Deletion – the right to request that we delete your personal information
- Portability – the right to receive your data in a portable format
- Objection – the right to object to certain uses of your data
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@frobro.com. We will respond to your request within 30 days.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make a significant change, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the app or by email. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of OK Today after a change to this policy means you accept the updated terms.
